Introducing Resort 2027 Fashion often rewards reinvention. For Resort 2027, David Koma turns his attention to something more enduring - the codes that have defined the house from the beginning: the body, its exposure, its protection, and its power. The collection begins with movement. Koma is drawn to the athletic grace of a female body in motion: the tension between strength and flexibility, the sensual choreography of a figure unfolding through space with an almost sculptural quality. The serpent emerges as a natural counterpart, its fluid movement, instinctive elegance, and transformative nature reflecting the interplay between power and grace. Throughout the collection, sweeping lines wrap around the body, negative spaces become a design language of their own, and silhouettes reveal as much as they conceal. The result is a vision of femininity that feels simultaneously seductive and powerful, elegant yet playful. The seasonal silhouettes oscillate between softness and structure. Sculptural forms embrace the body with architectural precision before dissolving into fluid lengths of satin and jersey. Razor-sharp bralette constructions sit alongside organic curves; protective high-neck jackets with rounded shoulders contrast with soft, cascading drapes. Crinoline ruffles bounce across the collection creating flirtatious movement, framing cut-outs, erupting from hems and peplums, or transforming sporty bomber jackets into objects of unexpected glamour. Liquid silver chains snake around the body as undulating wave embroideries and cascade down the legs. Elsewhere, couture-like satin pleats are individually boned, creating gathered forms that mould themselves to the body's natural contours. The palette traces a journey between nature and artifice. The collection opens with the instinctive palette of the ball python: desert yellow and dense black, before softening into ivory and cream. Crimson red, vivid lavender and an almost synthetic turquoise introduce a heightened sense of fantasy, their artificial brilliance contrasting with the collection's organic foundations. Ball python print wraps around the body like a second skin, appearing across fluid jersey, transparent sequins and lambskin leather. The imagery accompanying the collection emerged from Koma’s interest in the evolving relationship between fashion, creativity and image-making. Developed using new digital tools, including artificial intelligence, the project explores how ideas can move from imagination into image. While the garments themselves are conceived through a profoundly tactile process - sketched by hand, draped directly on the body, and refined through craftsmanship, this process embraces new technologies as a natural extension of the designer's creative process.
