"...has led to a genuine paradigm shift in the field of architecture in general, and at ETH Zurich in particular, over the past 15 years or so. The principle has become: demolish as few buildings as possible, and renovate, transform, and upgrade as many as possible – including those that appear to have little cultural value at first glance." This quote from an interview with Tom Avermaete beautifully captures the approach we are pursuing at ETH Zürich in architecture, planning, and civil engineering. It is inspiring to collaborate with researchers and students to advance this vision.
