Everyone will be rolling out their John Fahey stories today and mine’s not that unique. He was a suburban Dad who served as a Liberal Minister. He loved his footy, a beer and a smoke. A dedicated family man who had strong Catholic beliefs and he never let anyone think they weren’t worth having a chat to. I often spoke to him about the burden of interfaith marriages (both he and Nicole had the good sense to marry Anglicans). What wasn’t to like? Heaven will be a better place today.
