The Rolling Stones new album, “Foreign Tongues” just dropped. I don’t post often on LinkedIn, but i wrote up this one listen review. Feel free to argue with me. Let’s pray for some dates stateside in 2027, God willing. One listen review of Foreign Tounges: 1. Rough and Twisted: classic blues, strong first track 2. In the Stars: reminiscent of Angry from Hackney Diamonds. Good Brit song Fox used to promote the USMNT during World Cup. 3. Jealous lover: B- effort 4. Mr Charm: jagger has a point here, somewhere. Probably a minute too long. Not as creatively insulting as Brand New Car from Voodoo Lounge. 5. Divine Intervention. Solid, the guts of this song are strong. 6. Ringing Hollow: a solid return to their country pedigree. Mick seems to enjoy this one 7. Never wanna lose you: a rocker. Has that disco flair to it. Could see Travolta moving like jagger to this one. 8. Hit me in the head: a surprising kick in the pants for a song about dying. Fast paced. 9. You know I’m no good: So. So. Good. If you listen to one song this summer make it this one. 10. Some of Us: the Kieth song. Starts off soft. Builds to a strong closing. Mick does backups. Somewhat unusual for Kieth tracks. A- 11. Covered in You. Another rocker. Classic stones lyrics. Strong pace and beat. It’ll make my playlist. 12. Side Effects: kinda fun, kinda funny. 13. Back in your Life: has a Some Girls album feel to it. Balladish. Strong effort. 14. Beautiful Delilah: very bluesy. Has a mix of BB King and John Lee Hooker vibe. This one is an homage to their roots. Give it a listen. It’s good stuff.
