The EHDS is transforming how health data are used for research, innovation, policy making, and public health across Europe.  The TEHDAS2 project represents a unique opportunity to advance the cross-border secondary use of health data across 29 countries, while ensuring the needs of researchers, health professionals, regulators and the public are met. Together with key stakeholders, Data4Life submitted a joint statement on the TEHDAS2 guidelines.  Our recommendations focus on building on data infrastructures, standards, and communities that are already established and actively used across Europe. One such avenue is the Observational Health Data Sciences and Informatics (OHDSI) community, whose open standards and tools, including the OMOP Common Data Model, provide a proven framework for standardized, reproducible, and large-scale observational research supporting the secondary use of health data.
