Lately I’ve been diving into the world of building rigs from scratch - no Rigify, no Rig Pro, just me and a lot of bone parenting… What I love about this process is how empowering it feels: once you understand what’s happening under the hood, suddenly the whole system starts making sense. What I don’t love? Remembering all the tiny rules: clean naming, the right parenting chains, constraints that behave, drivers that don’t rebel… My brain has filed for overtime. The funniest part? I was absolutely terrified of rigging fingers. “A nightmare awaits,” I thought. Turns out? Total breeze. But the arm with its IK/FK hinge setup? Oh, that one put up a fight. Still, after wrestling it into submission once, building a similar structure for the leg went ten times faster. In the end, IK/FK switches became both my favorite and least favorite part of the whole process. They test your patience… but then you see everything moving exactly the way you intended, and it’s pure magic. The kind of magic that makes all the brain-melting worth it. #Rigging #Rig #Animation #OpenToWork
