Dartmouth Dialogues partnered with StoryCorps to bring One Small Step to campus: an initiative that pairs people with different perspectives and backgrounds for a conversation. Not to debate. Just to listen. Katie O'Nell, a PhD student in Psychological and Brain Sciences, is one of the people making it happen. Her research focuses on why two people can experience the same thing and walk away with completely different interpretations. In the lab, she studies that question with brain scans and narratives. On campus, she puts it into practice.
