DRC is pleased to announce the launch of an EOD Level 3 Training at the Regional Mine Action Training Centre in Omdurman – the first Level 3 course to be held in Sudan in 15 years. Delivered with the technical support of DRAKON and in close coordination with the Government of Sudan and the National Mine Action Centre (NMAC), this training is an important step toward strengthening Sudan's national capacity to safely manage and dispose of explosive ordnance. Building the skills of national mine action professionals from Sudanese organizations like JASMAR, NUMAD and FPDO is essential to reducing the risks posed by explosive ordnance, protecting lives, and supporting the safe recovery of conflict-affected communities. Strong local capacity helps create safe environments for children, farmers, pastoralists, and families returning to their homes after conflict. DRC thanks le CENTRE DE CRISE ET DE SOUTIEN, the Sudan Humanitarian Fund, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark for their support of this initiative. Through partnership and knowledge sharing, DRC hopes to build toward a safer Sudan for everyone.
