CEO at Art of Problem Solving Initiative, Inc., Founder of BEAM

As you might have heard since I've been sending this everywhere: BEAM is creating a new model for our 8th–11th grade programs, centered on the opportunity for our students to declare majors. (Which are Deep Thinking in Mathematics, Epidemiology or other mathematical biology, and Risks, Decisions, and Money.) Each major will allow students to go deeper and more in-depth on a topic that school does not cover. Engaging, authentic classes will build towards capstone projects in 11th grade. Thus, students will be able to develop independence in their studies, and to experience what it "really feels like" to engage with cutting-edge work. We are hiring part-time curriculum developers in New York City or Los Angeles to be a part of a team creating innovative experiences focused on math that goes beyond school. We're looking for one person for each major, plus additional people for our new 8th grade classes to prepare students for their majors. Hours are flexible and (aside from Saturday teaching) the role is remote. We are also open to course buyouts for college professors. Please consider applying and forward/share the roles with your network! For more details and the applications, please visit our hiring page: https://lnkd.in/e_KPDtsC
