Media Strategy | Global Communications | International Affairs

It can be daunting to put your thoughts out into the world. But driven by the desire to share my learnings and make sense of our fast-paced reality, I decided to step out of my comfort zone. I recently launched a Substack called "That Thing"—a weekly newsletter about what is going on in the world from my perspective. Coming from an International Relations background, I realized that modern media often fragments the news, losing the crucial threads that tie geopolitical events and human causes together. I write to bridge that gap. Blending international relations analysis with cultural trends and public reactions, the project is designed to give another perspective on global matters through a lens of purpose. Above all, this is a newsletter about hope. Hope for a new lens on those things that deserve attention. My last article was about "How national garments became cool again". Using Pierre Bourdieu’s concept of cultural capital, I explored the fascinating collision between the cultural pride we see at the World Cup and the highly restricted runways of Paris Haute Couture. It is a deep dive into how local heritage is challenging the mainstream, proving that true global luxury is no longer just about buying European logos, but about the intellect and awareness behind what we wear.
