In this work, we present and experimentally validate a ๐—บ๐˜‚๐—น๐˜๐—ถ-๐˜๐—ถ๐—บ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ฒ ๐—ฐ๐˜†๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ-๐—ฝ๐—ต๐˜†๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—น ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ถ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ฒ that enables coordinated voltage control between Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) grids. Some highlights of the work: ๐Ÿ”น Cyber-physical implementation using heterogeneous controllers and communication protocols ๐Ÿ”น Controller Hardware-in-the-Loop (CHIL) validation based on real measurements from the Forschungszentrum Jรผlich campus ๐Ÿ”น Real-time integration of a large grid-connected Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) directly into the control loop ๐Ÿ”น Experimental demonstration of fast voltage violation mitigation under realistic operating conditions Bridging advanced control algorithms with real hardware is a crucial step toward making future smart grids both intelligent and deployable.
