CEO & Founder, Nextpower (formerly Nextracker)

Zimmermann PV is one of the most respected solar power companies in Europe, and we are honored to announce that Nextpower has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the company.   This is an important step in Nextpower’s international growth and ability to serve clean power customers with wide portfolio of solutions. Zimmermann brings four highly complementary product lines, a presence adding more than 15 additional countries to Nextpower’s footprint, and access to what could become hundreds of new customer relationships over time.   Over the last four months, we have had the pleasure of getting to know Robert Zimmermann (Owner and CEO), Holger Krug (CEO) – pictured here with Nextpower execs Howard Wenger, Marco Miller, and myself and Zimmermann PV leaders team, including visiting their company in Germany. What stood out immediately was their deep engineering capability, strong customer focus, and culture of practical innovation.   Zimmermann has deployed more than 20 GW across more than 2,500 projects in 58 countries. Their solutions in fixed tilt, carports, high-density trackers, agriPV, floating PV and other applications will meaningfully expand the ways we can support customers across Europe and beyond.   For Nextpower, this transaction strengthens our ability to deliver a more complete platform for solar developers and EPCs: trackers, eBOS, PCS, BESS, and now a broader set of structural solutions designed for the realities of European markets, land-use requirements, permitting environments, and project needs.   Most importantly, this is a team and a company with a long legacy. Zimmermann was founded in 1950 and entered the solar market in 2009. We are excited to build on that foundation while preserving the customer relationships, local expertise, and engineering excellence that have made Zimmermann so respected.    Following close, the business is expected to operate as Zimmermann PV, a Nextpower Company and build upon their well earned legacy.   We are grateful to Robert, Holger, Franz Krug (COO) and the Zimmermann team for their trust and partnership, and we look forward to working together as we help accelerate reliable, cost-effective solar deployment across Europe and global markets.
