Medical Student at University of Cambridge, St. John’s College

I am happy to share that I’ve graduated from the University of Cambridge, having achieved an overall 1st class in Medical Sciences and Management. The last three years have been a fulfilling journey. The two years spent studying medical sciences have provided me with a robust understanding of biological systems and a deep appreciation for the academic rigour required in the medical field. Intercalating in Management Studies at the Cambridge Judge Business School this past year has provided a different set of skills. I’ve been able to apply newfound knowledge in economics, operations, and corporate structure to gain an appreciation for the determinants of successful healthcare delivery. The highlight of this year has been the group project, where I had the opportunity to work with De Soutter Medical on the commercialisation strategy of a new medical robot for shoulder replacement surgery. I hope to bring these management skills I have learned into my future practice as a medical practitioner, so that I can improve patient outcomes at all levels. I would like to thank all my supervisors and mentors who have guided me through this journey. Looking ahead, I’m excited to turn a new chapter and begin at the Clinical School in September, where I hope to apply the skills and tools I have developed over the past 3 years and further my learning.
