We are thrilled to announce that a specialty floor in the future cancer hospital—where the most advanced methods of care will be delivered—will be named to honor former presidents Dr. David G. Nathan, Edward J. Benz, Jr., MD, and Dr. Laurie H. Glimcher, through a generous gift from Anita and Josh Bekenstein, current chair of our Board of Trustees. “This tribute is about Dana-Farber and the leaders who helped shape what it is today,” said Josh and Anita Bekenstein. “Drs. Nathan, Benz, and Glimcher each guided Dana-Farber through moments of profound progress for patients, families, faculty, and staff. We are honored to recognize their legacy in a place that will carry Dana-Farber’s mission forward for generations.” Yesterday, our leadership, trustees, donors, faculty, staff, and members of the community gathered to celebrate this milestone moment. Remarks from Benjamin L. Ebert, MD, PhD, president and CEO, Dr. William C. Hahn, executive vice president and chief operating and transformation officer, Josh Bekenstein, and Dr. Nathan underscored the transformative leadership of each president and connected their tenures directly to the vision, momentum, and promise of the future cancer hospital. Our state-of-the-art, 300-bed cancer hospital for adult patients is projected to open to patients in 2031.
