Kathleen Keavany, MHA, was recently named senior vice president of Ambulatory Care. This position was newly created to gain strategic leadership and operational oversight of ambulatory services. As senior vice president, Keavany oversees all adult services at our ambulatory locations and works alongside leadership at Dana-Farber/Boston Children‘s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center for pediatric ambulatory services. In partnership with executive and clinical leadership, she helps ensure exceptional care across all of our outpatient clinical programs through innovative practices. Keavany is also responsible for managing coordination between inpatient and outpatient care. “Katie is highly devoted to our patients and our mission,“ remarks William Hahn, MD, PhD, executive vice president and chief operating and transformation officer. “In this pivotal moment in the field of oncology, with the rising incidence of cancer and growing ambulatory needs, Katie‘s strong leadership and vision will be crucial to our ability to deliver the highest quality patient care and experience possible, and to reimagining highly innovative, multidisciplinary care for our patients and their families.“ Since 1994, Keavany has made significant contributions in increasingly senior roles in ambulatory operations, disease center development, patient access, and analytics. In her previous role as vice president of Ambulatory Clinical Operations, she led the Adult Ambulatory Practice at our Longwood and Chestnut Hill campuses. She collaborated with senior clinical leadership to bring critical insight to improve patient-centered care and operational performance, supporting more than 600 staff and approximately 200 faculty. She also assisted with Joint Commission readiness and co-led ambulatory planning for the future cancer hospital. “It‘s an honor to take on this new responsibility at such an important time,“ says Keavany. “I‘ve valued the opportunity to spend time with teams across our adult and pediatric ambulatory services and deepen my understanding of the many ways we care for patients across Dana-Farber. I look forward to collaborating with colleagues across Dana-Farber in our shared commitment to shape the future of outpatient cancer care.“
