Market Developer

Many of you will remember the boom of energy trading in Alberta throughout the 90's. This boom was sustained by innovations all along the transaction chain, from supply, transportation and storage into transactional infrastructure like brokers, trading platforms, index development, derivatives trade and numerous credit/clearing solutions. Alberta was a clear leader in global energy trading as an industry. Over the years Alberta's advancements slowed and other jurisdictions caught up and even surpassed Alberta. While still a strong market for innovators, it "ain't what it used to be". I think this is changing, and there are many factors coming together to make it happen again. Here's my short write-up on some of the things that I think will drive Alberta to the forefront of global commodity trading hubs once again. Let me know what you think! #alberta #canada #energy #commodities #trading
