The future of TV is connected - but here's the recruitment take... ADWEEK just published a recap of their Cannes Lions fireside with Philo CEO Michael Keyserling and Horizon Media's Gene Turner, and a few things jumped out: - Independence is a competitive edge. Philo is one of the last cable alternatives not owned by a major conglomerate. Keyserling's point? Lean teams can say "yes" faster and work more collaboratively than a massive media company. I see this play out in hiring all the time: top CTV talent is increasingly weighing agility against big-brand security. - New ad formats = new skill sets. Pause ads and binge ads aren't just product news. They mean demand for people who understand programmatic execution, contextual signals, and viewer experience. - AI as "the great equalizer." Keyserling was blunt: AI has forced Philo to be more aggressive and flexible as a small company. If you're in ad ops, measurement, or yield - ROAS, MMM, frequency capping - your market value just went up. Again. The through-line for anyone building teams in streaming right now: the companies winning aren't necessarily the biggest. They're the ones hiring people who can move fast and wear multiple hats. If you're hiring in CTV/OTT or thinking about your next move in this space my DMs are open.
