In advanced healthcare, breakthrough ideas are only as strong as the infrastructure behind them. Completed in 2022 on the campus of the Medical University of Lodz, MOLecoLAB was designed as a platform for high-precision molecular research rather than a conventional academic facility.   👉 With 4,500 sqm of specialized laboratories and a total value of PLN 75 million, the center consolidated research on metabolomics of lifestyle diseases, drug safety assessment and biocompatibility testing for medical materials used in implants and stents.   👉 Its proximity to business support ecosystems strengthened the bridge between academia and industry, enabling applied R&D with real clinical impact.   👉 What set the project apart was its building standard. As Poland’s first passive laboratory facility (below 15 kWh/m² annually), it integrated advanced energy management systems, heat recovery ventilation, photovoltaics and façade solutions delivered by Aluprof including SkyRoll CLASSIC solar shading systems.   The result was a research environment aligned with long-term sustainability goals without compromising technical rigor.   #architecture #building #designandbuild
