๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ Last week, Dailymotion joined the leaders of twenty European tech companies in Brussels for the EUTA CEO Forum โ€” represented by our CLO, Majdoline Chablaoui What this forum reminded us: ย European tech is a real force. Companies born in Paris, Stockholm, Vilnius, Amsterdam, Helsinki and beyond, now reaching hundreds of millions of users worldwide. Real jobs. Real investment. Real innovation. Across the continent. But building and running a European platform from France means confronting the same reality, day after day: the potential is enormous โ€” and so are the structural obstacles. Three messages we brought to European decision-makers: A fragmented patchwork of national systems is manageable for global giants. For European platforms, it's an existential compliance burden. We need a binding EU Blueprint, a single harmonised digital age of consent, a risk-based approach proportionate to each service, and consistent protective measures for minors across the EU. AI is at the heart of European innovation โ€” yet stripping our companies of legal certainty on this issue ties their hands while US and Chinese players move forward unencumbered. Europe needs to give its own companies a fair shot. Handing the consent architecture of an entire continent to Chrome and Safari (84% of the market combined) doesn't protect users. It replicates Apple's ATT playbook across the European web โ€” while Google monetises its logged-in YouTube users, untouched by the very signal it controls. We cannot hand the keys to our digital economy to the very gatekeepers the DMA was built to constrain. A sincere thank you to European Parliament President Roberta Metsola, Executive Vice-President Henna Virkkunen, and Commissioner Michael McGrath for their time and openness in these exchanges. And to the European Tech Alliance โ€” thank you for a format that makes real dialogue possible. See you at the next one. Give European tech the means to scale at home, and we'll compete everywhere. ๐Ÿš€ #EuropeanTech #EUTA #DigitalFairnessAct #DigitalOmnibus #OneMarketOneRulebookOneFuture
