𝗘𝗨-𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘂𝗿 𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗢𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 The trade chapter of the EU-Mercosur Partnership Agreement has been provisionally applied since May 1, 2026. This creates one of the largest free trade zones in the world, between the EU and the Mercosur countries of Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay. What does this mean for your business? ✅ Significant tariff reductions: In the long term, tariffs will be eliminated on over 90% of goods ✅ Better market opportunities: Easier access to over 260 million consumers ✅ Attractive prospects for EU exports (e.g., machinery, vehicles, chemical products) and imports of raw and agricultural products Important for provisional application: A preferential proof of origin is required to qualify for the tariff benefit (including a REX number for goods valued at over 6,000 EUR). A certificate of origin is also accepted on a transitional basis.
