SAP is tightening the rules for data access with its new API Policy v4/2026. Large-scale data extraction via standard APIs will be subject to stricter regulation in future. This aligns with SAP’s Clean Core Strategy: fewer uncontrolled interfaces, more standardization and improved maintainability of ERP systems. For many BI, analytics and AI use cases, this raises an important question: how should future-proof SAP data integration be designed? One key point: RFC remains a stable, native access path for large data volumes, especially for data lake, reporting and AI architectures outside the SAP core. This is exactly why dab Nexus is not affected by the current API restrictions. The platform deliberately relies on certified RFC-based data extraction rather than API-based data replication, ensuring Clean Core Level B compliance and long-term architectural stability.
