Smart piece by Alex Woodie in HPCwire on the rise of SRAM-centric chips in the new AI world. Here's the core of it: AI inference is bottlenecked by how fast you can feed data to the compute. HBM sits off-chip; SRAM sits directly on the chip. HBM is supply constrained; SRAM is not. That design decision -- to build an SRAM-centric accelerator -- translates into a massive speed advantage for latency-dependent applications. When your workload lives or dies on how quickly memory can serve the next token, that difference is everything. And, of course, supply also means everything. Corsair is in full production and shipping. The age of inference is here, and the infrastructure is evolving to meet it.
