Solving your problems at the intersection of business, law and risk management. Views are my own.

I love writing about the lessons I learn from sports. As mentioned previously, I am a huge Blue Jays fan. As a young boy, they gave me an example of what could be achieved by an organization that was committed to excellence. After the now distant championship years, they became something else. More recently they have been a reminder of what the lack of a full commitment to excellence can look like. They try, they spend, they achieve measures of success. They have rarely flirted with excellence since 1993. WARNING: This is long but I used headings so you can skip ahead. DISCLAIMER: I wrote this a year ago. I was going to edit it and maybe turn it into something a bit more sophisticated but got involved in other projects that took up my free time. That said, not much has changed for the better since 2023, so I figured this might do better published than sitting in my Google Drive never to be seen. Additionally, I am just a fan who watches on TV, goes to a few games and remembers what it was like to be there the night Joe Carter hit the home run to win it all. Those are my only qualifications. #baseball #bluejays #businessandsport
