Fantastic to see the Crime & Policing Act, delivered by the UK Home Office, become law yesterday.   Several measures within the Act will make a real difference to frontline colleagues, including a bespoke offence for assaulting a retail worker and ending the outdated treatment of theft under the value of £200 as a summary-only offence, so perpetrators can be punished properly.   Last year saw retailers face 1,600 incidents of violence and abuse every single day, alongside 5.5m shoplifting offences.
