250 miles. 24 hours. One incredible cause. 🚴‍♂️ Recently, six determined colleagues took on an extraordinary challenge, cycling from Newark Distribution Centre to Currys London Campus at Waterloo to raise funds and awareness for the Digital Poverty Alliance. Led by Senior Health & Safety Advisor, Iain Hammond Tech IOSH, the team travelled through the day and night, stopping at Currys locations including Loughborough Contact Centre, Stevenage Customer Service Centre and retail stores along the route. Reflecting on the challenge, Iain shared: "The teamwork, resilience and camaraderie shown throughout were incredible. I'm really proud of what we achieved together, and there's a real sense of accomplishment. It has also been a fantastic learning experience that we can take into future events." Battling challenging weather conditions, fatigue, London traffic and an overnight ride, the team completed the 250-mile journey in just 24 hours, arriving at Waterloo tired, soaked, but incredibly proud of what they had achieved together. 💪 As part of the challenge, the cyclists also carried a repurposed laptop from our Repair Centre, delivering it to the Digital Poverty Alliance to help support their mission of tackling digital exclusion across the UK. The challenge was made possible by a team of capable and committed colleagues: Ben Fuller, Tomas Tarasevicius, Ian Maxwell, Paul Lang Tech IOSH and Marcus Collins. By raising awareness and supporting the fight against digital poverty, the team demonstrated what it means to be winning locally and making a meaningful difference in the communities we serve. A huge congratulations to the team for demonstrating the power of teamwork, determination and purpose in action. 👏 Here's the link if you wish to donate: https://lnkd.in/eUZQTSjK #LifeAtCurrys #DigitalPovertyAlliance #MakingTechnologyAccessible #ColleagueStories #CommunityImpact #CyclingChallenge
