“For me, it’s the team that makes the difference. Everyone wants each other to succeed, and you never feel like you’re on your own.” When Calum joined Currys in February 2024, he was stepping into something completely new. Before retail, his days were spent under car bonnets, working as a mechanic. Currys wasn’t part of the plan until his two older sisters, both former colleagues, shared what working here was really like: the people, the support, and the opportunities to grow. 🌱 So, he took a leap. Calum’s journey began at our Fort Dunlop training centre, where he built strong foundations in tech, learned how to approach customer conversations, and gained the confidence to step onto the shop floor. From there, his willingness to learn and his team‑first mindset quickly stood out. Over time, colleagues began turning to Calum for advice and support, a quiet sign of the leadership skills he was developing along the way. Today, Calum manages the Home Broadband category in-store and has been selected for the Amazing Managers Programme.
