⚡ Today, the Council voted on the Grids Package, a crucial step towards strengthening Europe's electricity networks and delivering the energy transition.  As Europe faces unprecedented electrification needs, grid expansion must accelerate. But building more infrastructure alone will not be enough.  During the discussion in Council of the European Union today, Commissioner Dan Jørgensen and Sweden’s Minister for Energy, Business and Industry Ebba Busch highlighted the need to use our grids more efficiently.  As interinstitutional negotiations begin, policy makers should ensure the right framework for innovative wire and non-wire technologies that will be essential to deliver a resilient, efficient, affordable and future-proofed grid. Innovative wire and non-wire solutions have a critical role to play in complementing traditional grid investments.
