Scientists have uncovered a single protein, FTL1, that acts as a primary driver of cognitive decline. In aging brains, FTL1 levels spike, weakening the connections between neurons and causing memory to slip away. But researchers found that by reducing this protein, they slow down aging as well as restored lost memory function in models. This discovery work at intersection of Dementia and "reversing" the biological clock in brain 🧠.
