Dolores Clara Fernández Huerta (b. 1930) is an American labor leader and civil rights activist. She, along with Cesar Chavez, co-founded the National Farmworkers Association, which is now called United Farm Workers. She also helped organize the Delano grape strike during 1965 in California and became the lead negotiator in the workers' contract drafted after the strike. The daughter of parents who immigrated from Mexico, Huerta originated the phrase, "Sí, se puede,” which translates from the Spanish to “If possible.” On April 10 in California, people commemorate her on Dolores Huerta Day. IC: a black and white photo of Huerta speaking into a bull horn at a rally. The text reads, “We are needed. We have to be engaged and get ourselves elected to school boards and city councils. Sí se puede!" #HispanicHeritageMonth
