🎊𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗨𝗛𝗞 𝗟𝗔𝗪 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗩𝗶𝘀 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗩𝗶𝘀 𝗩𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗮 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 In the 23rd Willem C. Vis East International Commercial Arbitration Moot (Vis East), among 160 participating teams at the oral phase of the competition, our oralists Anthea Li (LLB) and Baijin ZOU (PCLL) emerged as quarter-finalists. In the 33rd Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (Vis Vienna), out of 384 participating schools at the oral phase of the competition, our oralists Thomas Liu (PCLL) and Hoi Yiu Bernice Wong (LLB) also successfully advanced to the quarter-finals. The CUHK LAW team thus achieved a “Double 8” this year. Anthea and Thomas were each further awarded an Honorable Mention for Best Individual Oral Advocate. The CUHK LAW team advanced to the quarter-finals in Vis Vienna for the first time back in 2019-20 when the moot was held virtually in the midst of COVID-19. This Vis year marks the very first time in our history that the team has reached the quarter-finals in Vienna in person. The team was also awarded an Honorable Mention for Best Written Memorandum for Respondent in Vis East. We would like to congratulate the whole team—our four oralists and Bowie C. (LLB), Wendy Chow (BBA-JD), James C. (JD), Yueyun Hu (LLB), Eric Lin (JD), Lauren Ma (LLB), Pinky Shiu (LLB) and Lok Shu Ophelia Tang (LLB) —for these stellar accomplishments. We would take this opportunity to express our compliments to our student coaches: Charles Chan (LLB), Wing Lam Foo (PCLL), Adelaide Kwan (PCLL), Jiayang Li (PCLL) and Clementine Zhang (PCLL) for their unwavering support and contributions. We are also very grateful to all CUHK Vis alumni who took the time and made the effort to provide valuable assistance over the past few months.
