Rare diseases are often grouped into one category, but the research landscape tells a much more uneven story. In Spain, clinical trial activity is clearly concentrated around a limited number of indications, with plasma cell myeloma, acute myeloid leukaemia, and myelodysplastic syndrome leading the ranking. At the same time, many other rare diseases remain represented by far fewer trials. Why does this matter? Because for patients, access to innovation depends not only on scientific progress itself, but on whether research is happening in their disease area at all. Looking at the data this way helps reveal where momentum is strongest, where the gaps remain, and where future clinical research could make an even bigger difference. What do you think drives this concentration most: feasibility, funding, site readiness, or unmet need? ๐ŸŒ We are CTIN โ†’ Clinical Trials Information Network ๐–๐ž ๐›๐ซ๐ข๐๐ ๐ž ๐„๐ฎ๐ซ๐จ๐ฉ๐žโ€™๐ฌ ๐œ๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ข๐œ๐š๐ฅ ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ž๐š๐ซ๐œ๐ก ๐ž๐œ๐จ๐ฌ๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ฆ ๐Ÿ” Follow for clinical research market insights ๐Ÿค Share to support our mission #DataInsights #RareDiseases #Spain Pankaj Patel Heather P.
