Same molecules, many trials - is innovation keeping pace? Looking at the most frequently studied investigational medicinal products, one thing stands out: many trials are still built around well-established therapies. Acetylsalicylic acid, clopidogrel, ticagrelor, prasugrel, apixaban or rivaroxaban are not new names in medicine - yet they continue to appear across multiple clinical trials. This does not mean the research is less valuable. Established therapies still need to be tested in new indications, combinations, populations and treatment strategies.
