In the week of the Senior Drama production, a Senior Production from 1955. Shivering Shocks, or No Hiding Place is a one-act play written in 1922 by Clemence Dane at the request of a schoolboys’ dramatic society. They demanded: A hero crippled in the War, crooks, an inventor (“who shall invent something that the crooks are after”), at least two stage fights, pistols if possible, a detective, a cockney accent, an Irish accent, “no women or love-making”, and a drunken man who stammers. The Director was Mr Wicken, and the players were Rhodri Thomas and Wayne Thomas, who can be identified on the right of the photo as the crippled hero and his servant, and Robert Clayton as the inventor, seated on the left; the other players were Stuart Clode, Nicholas David and Martin Coffin as the inspector and the crooks – can you put these in the right order?
