Today is Wild Koala Day and turns out we have a lot in common with our furry friends. But really, who doesn’t love a koala (Phascolarctos cinereus)? We certainly do, so much so that we have a National Koala Monitoring Program. Turns out koalas are difficult to monitor, so our knowledge of their populations is patchy. That's why, with partners, we've put so much effort into surveying koalas by sight, sound, scats and sensing to help monitor populations and assist with recovery efforts.
