We've released the blueprint to reducing Lismore floods by up to two metres. As part of our Northern Rivers Resilience Initiative, our researchers have been working in partnership with communities, councils and the National Emergency Management Agency to assess potential flood mitigation options across the Richmond River catchment. Using high-resolution hydrodynamic modelling, we found that a coordinated package of interventions could potentially reduce flood peaks in Lismore by up to 2.07 metres during events such as the 2022 flood events. The work provides an important scientific foundation for future decision-making and investment in flood resilience. Read more about the research and its findings: https://lnkd.in/eYrgma8R
