How do you take an innovation from idea to action? 💡 A sold-out room of Queensland founders and SMEs joined us at The Precinct in Fortitude Valley last week to unpack this question at Ideas to Action: Research Connections for QLD Founders. Queensland Chief Scientist Professor Prof Kerrie Wilson and regional entrepreneur Julia Spicer OAM shared their perspectives on what happens when business and research work together. Attendees spent the afternoon meeting researchers from James Cook University, CQUniversity, the University of Southern Queensland and the University of the Sunshine Coast to explore what's possible for their own R&D ideas. Attendees also heard from Zoe Atterbury from Bloom Cycle and Sharon Hunneybell from FirstWave ASX: FCT, who shared their experience of working with regional university researchers on their own R&D challenges. Through the Queensland Government Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation -funded Regional University Industry Collaboration (RUIC) program delivered by us, Queensland businesses can access up to $50,000 in matched funding per research project.
