How can quantum make AI safer? 🤔 A fundamental technique behind AI is machine learning (ML), which helps machines like computers learn from data to perform tasks or make predictions. ML powers many technologies we rely on every day: traffic predictions on our phones, personalised streaming recommendations, and even autonomous vehicles. But when it comes to making critical decisions, how reliable and secure is it? Not to mention ML requires A LOT of energy. Enter quantum computing. By coupling ML with quantum computing’s superior processing power, it could help make AI systems more reliable, energy efficient and secure. We host a major national research and development program advancing quantum science, including ML models. We’re working on medical diagnostics, finance and fraud detection, and transport and logistics optimisation.
