🌱 How do you decarbonize a village when conventional district heating does not fit? 🏘️ That is the reality many small municipalities face. They want to move away from fossil fuels, but classic heating infrastructure can be too large, too costly, or too disruptive for the built environment. In the village of Grandvaux in Bourg-en-Lavaux, CSEM and its partners helped design another path. The ANERGYCAD project uses a low-temperature anergy loop buried beneath village roads to tap into local heat stored in the ground and nearby structures. Each building then upgrades that heat with its own heat pump. 🛠️ The result is not just an interesting pilot. It is a practical blueprint for villages that need lower-carbon heating without oversized infrastructure.
