It was great to see Mark Isherwood MS, a member of the Nuclear Energy Cross-Party Group, champion the civil nuclear sector this week in the Senedd during Questions to the Cabinet Secretary for Transport and North Wales. ⚛️ Mark highlighted the findings of the recent Oxford Economics report commissioned by the Nuclear Industry Association, which showed the Welsh civil nuclear sector generated £850 million in GVA in 2024 and supported over 13,000 jobs across Wales. He rightly noted the transformational potential of bringing new nuclear to Wylfa, and how this could deliver economic benefits on par with those seen in the South West of England. 🏗️ In response, Cabinet Secretary Ken Skates MS described the sector as part of one of the most vibrant civil nuclear arcs in Europe, adding that the Welsh Government is actively engaging with industry and committed to maximising investment. 💷 The Nuclear Energy Cross-Party Group will continue working to ensure Wales fully benefits from the UK’s nuclear renaissance. ✅ #Wales #NuclearEnergy #Nuclear
