Director General at AMSLaboratorGenetic
Over the past years, AMS Laborator Genetic has collaborated with Arcensus for WES and WGS testing for patients with rare diseases, many of them children. In recent discussions, Prof. Dr. Arndt Rolfs personally assured us of his full support regarding the ongoing cases we send to Arcensus for analysis. Unfortunately, the reality of the past month has been deeply concerning. We are currently facing major delays in the release of results, with several patient cases already exceeding 20 working days beyond the expected reporting timeline. At the same time, repeated emails remain unanswered, and phone contact has become impossible. This is not merely an operational inconvenience. These are rare disease patients and families waiting for essential genetic answers, often in highly sensitive and urgent medical situations. As the laboratory in direct contact with them, we are left unable to provide explanations, updates, or timelines because Arcensus has effectively become unreachable. Such a lack of communication is unacceptable in any professional collaboration, and even more so when patient care is directly affected. Arcensus Prof Dr Arndt Rolfs We are publicly requesting an immediate explanation, direct communication, and urgent action on all overdue patient cases. #RareDiseases #Genetics #WES #WGS #PatientCare #Accountability #Healthcare #MedicalEthics
