As we wave goodbye to a year that has been a bit pants for many of us, there’s still some bits of good news. Last month the Welsh Government recently launched the Ending Homelessness Action Plan, which sets out the changes needed so that no one in Wales is left out of vital homelessness support. The plan outlines the long term steps needed to end homelessness for good and commits to continuing the work already done to support people during the pandemic. https://bit.ly/3zeMYF9 Meanwhile Manchester has seen its fourth annual drop in numbers of people rough sleeping. Numbers are under a hundred and the lowest seen since 2013. This contrasts with many other English cities such as London which has seen numbers grow for over a decade. One of the initiatives credited with this improvement is the Housing First program which was piloted in Manchester. https://bit.ly/3sIZPOE And finally – a shout out to the amazing Austin, who raised an impressive £765 for Crisis by having a cake sale at his local park and a camp-out in his back garden. Thank you for your support Austin, you are amazing!
