The awkwardness of having a body – Sara Priorelli would rather stretch it, twist it and laugh it off 👀 The self-taught Italian animator distorts, sags and bends bodies with cartoonish glee, drawing every frame by hand. No storyboard, no script – just memory, a constant stream of scribbled notes and a love of the imperfections. She came in through collage (Hannah Höch, Terry Gilliam) long before she had the software, and still switches between digital, the light box and comics to keep herself off autopilot. Her most expressive things to draw? "Fingers, hair and breasts, because they are so expressive and fluid and constantly changing shape."
