Most of the talk around the 2026 ebook accessibility rule is missing the point. This isn’t about authors changing how they write. It’s about how ebooks function inside library systems. Starting April 2026, libraries will be held to stricter ADA standards for their digital platforms. And like everything else in publishing… those expectations will flow upstream. ➡️ Publishers with clean, structured EPUBs will be fine ➡️ Sloppy files won’t get rejected — they’ll just get ignored This isn’t a disruption.
