Kerry Simpson spent 34 years teaching, but her career journey was anything but linear. After moving to Queensland, Kerry thought her teaching days might be over. She and her husband began small-crop farming, a chapter that seemed like a complete change in direction at the time. Years later, that experience helped her return to education through TAFE, where industry experience outside of teaching became part of what opened the door. Through CQUniversity’s 30 Minutes a Month program, Kerry reflected on the unexpected turns that shaped her career and the lessons that came with them.
