✨ Anniversary celebration 🎉 CPA Australia’s Eid Reception was extra special this year as we marked our 140th anniversary globally and 70 years of presence in Malaysia. With members and stakeholders, including employer and academic partners in attendance, the event was an opportunity to connect🤝, network, establish new collaborations and celebrate shared achievements in tandem with the spirit of 140 years of meaningful contribution to the accounting profession.💫 Cultural nuances peppered the event with traditional poetry or ‘Sajak’ recital by two members followed by the vibrant beat of ‘Kompang’ 🎵 welcoming guests and finally a decisive Gong beat by CPA Australia President and Board Director, Dale Pinto, to symbolically mark the anniversary 🎉 milestone. Speeches 🗣️ by Dale and Divisional President, Kit Weng Yip, FCPA, CA, reminded guests of the strategic direction of CPA Australia in keeping the accounting profession relevant and current as new technologies challenge existing norms. Resplendent ✨ in traditional attire, past presidents, current and past councillors joined guests in equally stunning outfits as they indulged in photo taking, business card exchanges and shared pride sporting their 140 and 70 years anniversary pins. It was a wonderful break from work to recharge and appreciate the power of connections and commemorate CPA Australia’s long history of contribution to regional and global growth of the accounting profession.
