From Agricultural Economics to Product Management to future tennis champion, Kanyinsola Ibikunle didn't come to play. Well, actually, she did. 🎾 Meet Kanyinsola, one of the newest faces joining the Cowrywise product team. She'll be the first to tell you that Agricultural Economics wasn't it 😭, but what she did discover through out her education is that she was one of those people teachers described as "brilliant, but asks too many questions." So she followed that North star. One AIESEC chapter later, a design pivot, a product pivot, and a habit of randomly building things just for fun, she finally found her lane. Product felt like a natural fit for someone whose curiosity and desire to solve problems never really had an off switch. And she's not just building anything. Kanyinsola is deeply passionate about emerging markets and the barriers that keep everyday people from accessing financial tools that should be available to everyone. When she heard what Cowrywise was working on, her words were: "It felt like Real Madrid calling. Who am I to say no?" We couldn't agree more. 💃 Outside of product, she writes a tech newsletters, is on a mission to crack the top 100 tennis players in Nigeria by end of year, and holds the unofficial record for eating an entire pineapple in one sitting. Oh, and she makes fried rice even when she's exhausted. 🌚 🫠 She lives by this: "Your life is a canvas. You can change the colour, start a new page." We're glad she started a new one with us.
