What’s the real price we pay when power supplies, payment systems or critical transportation links are suddenly disrupted? Critical infrastructure is the foundation that keeps everyday life running for both citizens and businesses. But the threat landscape has shifted dramatically in recent years, placing new demands on how companies and public authorities must work together to keep society operational in the event of a serious crisis. At this year’s People’s Meeting (Folkemødet), COWI brought together a panel from across the public and private sectors to explore how we move forward. One thing was made clear: Resilience comes at a cost – but so does inaction. It forces us to rethink how we plan, prioritise and deliver critical infrastructure for the future. And importantly, to act now rather than wait for perfect solutions. A big thank you to our panellists, Mikkel Hemmingsen, Jens Aaløse and Morten Dyrholm for their insights, and to Cecilie Beck for expertly guiding the conversation as always.
