What happens when a roof reaches its structural limits, but expectations keep rising? In a commercial retrofit to improve energy efficiency in Bonn, the roof had virtually no remaining load capacity. Yet the project still required preparation for photovoltaic installation and a reduced CO₂ footprint. The project illustrates how close collaboration across the value chain helped balance structural feasibility, sustainability, and real-world buildability. Together with Wierig Gruppe as the executing contractor and Linzmeier Bauelemente GmbH as the insulation manufacturer, the solution was enabled by lightweight polyurethane (PU) insulation based on bio-attributed* raw materials. 👉 Explore the full #BetterBuildings case study with insights from site experts and the manufacturer: https://lnkd.in/dKPmteD4 *bio-attributed insulation according to the mass balance approach #renovation #partnership #polyurethanes
