A mosquito bite in Asia turned serious – but Shannon wasn’t alone. As dengue fever cases continue to rise across parts of Asia, the health risk facing travellers is once again in the spotlight. In Sri Lanka alone, more than 19,000 cases were reported in June, doubling the number recorded in May. One of our customers, Shannon, experienced firsthand how quickly dengue fever can escalate while traveling around Indonesia. After being bitten by a mosquito and contracting the viral infection, her condition deteriorated and required urgent medical support. Cover-More’s emergency assistance team stepped in, coordinated her care and flew a specialist from Singapore to escort her safely back to Australia. It’s stories like this that remind us why travel insurance matters. Because even the smallest things – like a mosquito bite – can turn into something big when you’re far from home. Wherever you travel, we’re here to help. https://lnkd.in/gYzVADed #TravelInsurance #CoverMore #DengueFever #EmergencyAssistance #TravelSafely #CustomerStory
