Every month, Kiran Devi visits dozens of homes in her village. She’s there to collect electricity bills—but what she’s really building is trust. As a Vidyut Sakhi, she helps families navigate digital payments, strengthens the connection between communities and electricity utilities, and earns a sustainable livelihood in the process. Kiran’s story is one among thousands across Uttar Pradesh. Implemented by the Government of Uttar Pradesh through the Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission (UPSRLM) in partnership with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation ( Uppcl ), with CEEW as the Project Monitoring Unit, the Vidyut Sakhi programme is demonstrating how women-led service delivery can strengthen both livelihoods and the power sector. Since 2021, the programme has: ⚡ Supported the onboarding of nearly 30,000 Vidyut Sakhis ⚡ Enabled close to USD 400 million (INR 3,700 Crore) in electricity bill collections ⚡ Contributed 12–15% of DISCOMs’ total revenue collections Powering Uttar Pradesh’s Future | A Vidyut Sakhi Story follows the women behind these numbers, alongside voices from government, consumers, and sector experts. When women lead, the benefits extend well beyond households—they strengthen institutions, communities, and the energy transition itself. 📹 Watch the full film at: https://lnkd.in/gmrCAR2c KESHAV PRASAD MAURYA, ICICI Bank, mamta yadav, Shalu Agrawal, Rashi Singh, Nitesh kumar, Vikrant Singh, Alina Sen, Emotive Lens
